My life, in words | The true story of TJ.

Job interview, laundry, other things

So right now I am pretty proud of myself. I got some of the crap done that I’ve been procrastinating with for weeks. Let’s start from the beginning. On Monday, I woke up, missed my Orthodontist appt (because I’m an idiot and thought it was another day), and showered. I went to GSI to see if I could get my job back there. I worked there from Oct 2005- Nov 2006 but  I quit to work for Cingular. They won’t hire me back though because I “missed a few days” while I worked there. I would sometimes just not feel like going. I tried to say I was younger back then (17-18), and now I’m 21, and don’t do those type of things. Which is true. I was only 17 at the time I got the job, and I was young and stupid. Now I’m a Senior in college, been with a steady job for almost two years, and feel good about that.

Back to topic… so GSI denied me, but that is okay. Last Saturday I applied for a 20 hr a week teller at another BofA location. I got a call on Monday about it from BofA Recruiting, and they set me up for a phone interview for Wednesday. The phone interview on Wednesday went well, and I interviewed with the Manager of the Melbourne Beach location yesterday (Friday). The interview went really well, so I think and hope I got the position. I love my job at BofA. I’m really good at it, always meet me goals, and can help teach others, so I feel like I’ll get hired. So now that I’m almost going to have an income again, money won’t be an issue anymore for me. I can pay my rent, not worry about it, and still have extra money to do things I want to do.

So on Tuesday, Rob and I got a new game, which is Halo 3: ODST. We’ve been playing that since we bought it. I actually haven’t played in a few days, but Rob is playing it right now. On either Tuesday or Wednesday I did all my laundry, and cleaned my room. So right now my room looks sexy, and my closet has no dirty clothes in it waiting to be washed! It feels pretty good to not have anything to do.

Basically right now I’m just waiting to know if I got the job. If I do, that is what I’ll be up to til January, just working at the bank. I’m also going to be working on my website, which I’ve talked about. I bought two books on half.com that teach PHP. I’m waiting for those books to get here in the mail, so I can start reading them. I bought PHP and MySQL Web Development (4th Edition), and Programming PHP, both of which had good reviews.

Anyway, I’ll let you know how the job decision goes as soon as I hear it. I’m going to go check my mail to see if any of the books came in. :)

New layout

I got a new layout for the blog at the wordpress.org website. I like it, changed it around a little bit. Anyway, yesterday I went to work. It was actually a good day. The night before I got a good nights sleep, woke up on Saturday morning before my alarm went off, and ate some breakfast. While at work, I was just in a better mood, so maybe it is the sleep/food thing.

I still need to do laundry. I haven’t done laundry in a very long time, and I’m running out of clean clothes lol. I’m having fun with this blog and website, although I still don’t know what I’m going to do for my site. Tomorrow is Monday, and my plan is to find a job, talk to BOA, pay back Dustin $34.00 I owe him, and do some laundry!! I need to get off my lazy arse and get some chores done.

tjsisti.com

So I bought the domain, tjsisti.com. I’ve had websites in the past, but not my name as the URL. My overall plan for the website is to use it as a personal portfolio/blog website. As you can see I converted all my Live Journal posts from 2004 over to WordPress, and so far I’m very impressed with this script. I like how I can even lock all my old posts, and still start fresh with my new blog. If your curious why I locked them, it’s because it’s from when I was younger and doesn’t reflect the idea I have for this site. I want to post updates on my life, and blog about how I’m coming along with projects and programming. This blog isn’t even intended for anyone to read, unless they just stumble upon it.

So here we are, at the new site! I’m going to be working on it as time passes by. I still really don’t have any ideas about how I’m going to lay the site out, so that will have to come as I go. I’m reading some stuff online about PHP, because it’s been a few years since I’ve done anything with it. I want to build a custom script for my website, but I haven’t came up with an idea.

Just an update on life real fast. I started my senior year of college on Aug 17th this year. I went for two weeks and during the time I got sick and got pink eye. I was already going through tough times, (depression, money, life), and being out for a week sick put me way behind, so I decided to dropped my semester until January.  I didn’t want it to affect my GPA. I’m working on my school work from home, and then I’m taking my classes next semester. I feel like this is the best option for me. I know I regret it, because I could be a semester further in 3 months, but in the long run I had to. I need time to clear my head, and get some things straight and in order. That way I can focus 110% next semester. As for work, right now I’m doing 1 day a week at BofA (Saturdays), but trying to get more hours. I just applied for 20 hours at the Palm Bay branch. I NEED the money, so I really hope I get it. I don’t really want to work though.. I want to take time off  of work and school to focus on myself, and get myself together. Work on my website. :-p However, I know school is the most important thing, and next semester I will be back full force. I don’t have much schooling to go until I get my BA in Computer Science, so I’m not too worried about it. That is actually the point of buying this domain, is to practice some coding and building some applications, while giving me motivation to do so.

We’ll see how it turns out. This is exciting!! My first post on my website. Woohoo!
